Worship at Church Creek Presbyterian Church

We gather for worship each Lord’s Day to give glory and praise to the Triune God.

  • Sunday Morning Worship: 10:45 AM
  • Sunday Evening Worship: 5:30 PM

We would be glad to have you join us.

Our Understanding of Worship

At Church Creek PCA, we are committed to worshiping God in the way He has revealed in His Word. We do not use the term worship merely to refer to the musical or singing portions of the service. Rather, worship refers to the whole of the service we render to God as we gather as His people.

In worship, God calls us into His presence, speaks to us through His Word, and invites us to respond with faith, repentance, thanksgiving, and obedience. Our aim is to ascribe to God the glory due His name in every part of the service.

Order of Worship

In seeking to apply both the prescriptive and descriptive teaching of Scripture regarding worship, our services generally follow this order:

  • Call to Worship
  • Prayer of Invocation
  • Psalm or Hymn of Praise
  • Reading of the Law of God (from either the Old or New Testament)
  • Private Confession of Sin (silent)
  • Public Confession of Sin (printed in the bulletin)
  • Assurance of Pardon
  • Hymn of Gospel Assurance
  • Confession of Faith (commonly from the Westminster Shorter Catechism, Heidelberg Catechism, Apostles’ Creed, or Nicene Creed)
  • Prayer for the Church and the World
  • Giving of Tithes and Offerings
  • Offertory / Doxology
  • Scripture Reading
  • Sermon
  • The Lord’s Supper
  • Hymn of Response to the Gospel
  • Benediction

The Lord’s Supper

We regularly observe the Lord’s Supper as a means of grace. All baptized believers who are trusting in Christ and seeking to walk in repentance are invited to partake. If you have questions or are uncertain, we encourage you to speak with one of our elders.
