The ministries for covenant children at Church Creek PCA have one primary goal in mind–to make the glory of the Lord known to the next generation, “that the generation to come might know” (Psalm 78) – so that they would set their hope in God. The goal in ministering to our children is to bring the heart of the Gospel to the heart of the child. Through our ministries, children have opportunities to be instructed in God’s Word, be involved in fellowship, and engage in worship.

We have extended the ministries to children and youth beyond Sunday morning to include various Youth activities throughout the year, Family Nights on the first Wednesday of each month (before COVID-19), and Outdoor Family Ministry time before worship on the playground during COVID-19 restrictions – information on these activities can be found on the Family and Adult Ministries page. When we are able, we have hosted Vacation Bible School for covenant children and others in the community as a way of connecting with our local community to spread the Gospel message.

Sunday School

When you join us on Sunday mornings there are Sunday School classes available for children from K-3 through high school. Sunday School is an important ministry because in it we teach children the truths of God’s Word (the Bible). Children not only learn the stories of the Bible, but also the overarching story of God’s Word, which is God choosing a people for Himself and saving those people through His Son Jesus Christ. Sunday School classes for children ages three and older meet every Sunday during our Sunday School hour from 9:30am-10:10am. The K3-Elementary children gather for a time of singing before moving to their individual classrooms.

The Middle and High School Classes meet together or separately depending on the type of class being taught each quarter. We use the Great Commission Publications “Show Me Jesus” curriculum in all of our Sunday School classes. It emphasizes prayer and challenges children to develop a personal relationship with Jesus.

During the middle of 2020 before we started our Outdoor Family Worship time, one of our elders did a series of video lessons for the children on the First Catechism to encourage them to learn the questions and answers and to put these words of truth in their hearts. These are posted on our Sermon Audio page and can also be found on this website under Church Life and the Sermons page.

The mission of the nursery at Church Creek is to come alongside parents as they seek to raise their children in the love and admonition of the Lord. Our nursery facilities are available throughout the Sunday School and Morning Worship hours for infants and toddlers through three years of age.

The nursery and its volunteers operate according to a Safe Sanctuary Nursery Policy as we seek to provide a safe, loving environment for children. Our nursery is staffed by trained church members who serve quarterly during Sunday School and members who serve once per quarter during worship. Please do not hesitate to contact the church secretary at any time time with your questions and concerns. Nursery is not available at the present time.

Children’s Worship

The purpose of our corporate Worship Service is to gather together as a church body, including children, to proclaim the Glory of the Lord and to respond to His greatness with authentic worship. Our desire is to provide an environment where all people can come together and worship God. Therefore, we welcome children of any age into our Worship Service and we encourage parents to model for them entering into corporate worship. Our sanctuary is equipped with a Worship Training Room. The purpose of the worship training room is to provide a convenient place for parents to teach their children how to participate in the worship service.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

VBS is an exciting ministry for our church and community where kids can have lots of fun and can learn about God’s great love for them in the person of Jesus Christ. Kids have an opportunity to sing, play games, enjoy fun crafts, hear Bible lessons from adults in costume, and fellowship with other children their age. Church Creek offers VBS during the summer whenever possible.
