Daniel 2 He Is There And He Is Not Silent

Main point: There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries [v28]

A. WHEN THERE IS SILENCE, LIFE WILL BE MYSTERIOUS

1. Without a Word from God there will always be much in life that is mysterious [1]

2. Without a Word from God there will always be people ready to take advantage of us [4-11]

B. OUR GOD IS THERE AND HE IS NOT SILENT

1. The God who works: He changes times, seasons, sets up kings [21]

2. The God who speaks: He reveals profound and hidden things [22]

3. The God who is here with us

a. The church gathers [17]
b. The church prays [18]
c. The church listens to God’s Word [19]
d. The church praises God [20]
e. The church goes out and proclaims what God has said [24]

C. WHEN GOD SPEAKS, HE GIVES MEANING TO LIFE

1. God gives direction for life [30]

a. God sets up and removes national leaders [37-38; Rom 13.1-4]

b. The civil use of the law

2. God invites us to experience new life [34-35, 44-45]

a. A Stone cut out without human hands
b. A Stone that crushes every other kingdom
c. A Stone that becomes a mountain and fills the earth

1 Pet 1.23-25; 2.4-7a
