We are to live by faith.
We are to die in faith.
We are to look beyond death to the generation to come.

A. ABRAHAM: DEATH IS NOT THE END

2. Abraham’s faith was tested by death [17]

3. Abraham believed God’s promise in the presence of death [18-19]

B. BELIEVING PARENTS: MORE IS YET TO COME

1. Death threatens the promise

2. The promise is passed on in faith

C. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?

1. We can expect God to still raise up men like Moses [24-27]

2. We can expect God to still convert women like Rahab [31]

Quotes of note...

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. -- Ephesians 2:8-9
Justification is withdrawn from works, not that no good works may be done, or that what is done may be denied to be good, but that we may not rely upon them, glory in them, or ascribe salvation to them.
John Calvin
