The Snares of Wealth
1 Timothy 6:6-19

I. Covetousness
Defense: Consider the emptiness of material gain

1. Consider your net gain (7)

2. Consider your needs (8)

3. Consider the liability of wealth (10)

“Whoever loves money never has money enough;
whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.” - ECC. 5:10

II. Pride
Defense: Consider the great faithfulness of God

1. Consider that all you have is from God (17; 2 Cor. 4:7)

2. Consider the uncertainty of wealth (17)

3. Thank God for his faithfulness and Generosity (17)

III. Counter Attack
Offense: hunger for spiritual gain

1. Consider what true wealth is (18-19,11-12)

2. Consider the witnesses (12,13)

3. Consider the greatness of God (14, 15,16)
