Family Sunday School Class
JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH comes to SUNDAY SCHOOL!
- On Sunday, June 3, at 9:55 am, we will have our Family Sunday School in the church sanctuary.
Our final lesson on church music will be a presentation of the life and work of J. S. Bach. We will learn about Mr. Bach’s amazing God- given talent as we watch him take the simple little tune from “Pop Goes the Weasel” and play it upside down, inverted, and backwards! We will also learn about his dedication to developing his gift for the glory of the Lord and for the edification of the church through the study of his cantata form. Bach used this form to develop a scriptural theme or text in his music, much as a pastor would develop a sermon.
